Ease of Use:  

RegVac has a very simple navigation process. It is designed for both the expert and the novice to the Windows registry. The novice mode offers simple one-click functions to begin the scanning process. The expert mode allows you to navigate through customization options to manually select specific searches. There are convenient wizards, called vacs, that search any areas that you wish to have checked for errors.

Feature Set:  

RegVac offers many convenient features including Individual Undo, Total Undo, Show Key Function, Auto-Start Capabilities, and expert and novice modes. The Show Key function transports you directly to the detected error in your registry. The expert mode offers customization options to appeal to the advanced registry user. You may narrow your search to class errors, stash errors, file lists, or software links. This program also offers an excellent add/remove software editor.

RegVac is lacking a few features found in top-of-the-line registry repair utilities. It lacks the ability to defrag your registry and although you may edit your corrections, there is no registry backup.

Ease of Installation:  

There were no complications during the installation of RegVac. This version is compatible with Windows Vista.

Help/Support:  

The help and documentation segment for this program needs improvement. There is a Help button that grants instant access to the help manual and documentation. There are also FAQs, but this program is lacking email and phone support. This is one of the greatest help tools and the absence of this type of support ranks RegVac below other competitors in this area.

Safety:  

Safety is the most critical issue with registry repair utilities. RegVac offers many features to aid in keeping your registry safe. RegVac divides the detected errors into individual categories and includes individual and complete undo functionality. The expert mode offers customized registry searches and divides the search results into key areas. This program automatically deletes all detected errors, but allows you to return and review the errors to restore any that you do not want deleted. RegVac lacks severity rankings, making it difficult for a novice to make an informed decision about which errors to repair and which to delete.

RegVac includes some excellent features, such as a user-friendly interface, and convenient customization options. Improvements in both the safety division and the help and documentation, such as the addition of severity rankings, and the availability of email and phone support would make the product much safer for a novice to the Windows registry.
